Are you truly resting?

Welcome Shiftwave Chair to BIH!

What is Shiftwave?

Shiftwave is a zero-gravity chair that integrates:

  • Whole-body vibration

  • Guided breathwork with music

  • Real-time HRV biofeedback (“BioDrive” technology)

  • Sensory isolation (eye mask + headphones)

The vibration stimulates sensory and circulatory pathways, while breath and rhythm entrain the nervous system into coherence. Vibration helps move the lymphatic system as well.

The BioDrive program uses your own HRV in real time, meaning the system adapts to you. It’s not passive relaxation. It’s training your nervous system to regulate more efficiently.

There is also a 5-day Sleep Optimization series designed specifically to help restore parasympathetic tone before sleep.

The Missing Piece in Longevity (& Why I Brought Shiftwave to the Clinic)

If we want to age well, we must train the nervous system.

This has been a personal journey for me as well.
And it’s what led me to bring something new into the clinic.

We are a dysregulated society.

  • Over 70% of primary care visits are linked to stress-related conditions.

  • Chronic stress is associated with increased cardiovascular disease, autoimmune conditions, cognitive decline, insomnia, metabolic dysfunction, and accelerated aging.

  • So how does one know if they have a balanced, regulated nervous system?

I’ll share my personal insight into an imbalanced nervous system.

I have struggled with a hyperaroused nervous system for years.

That internal sense of needing to be alert. On. Ready.

Trouble turning off my brain. Sleep that fractures at 3–4am.

Even with meditation, exercise, and all the tools I teach, I’ve had to work at regulation.

This isn’t weakness. It’s modern life.

But it does have consequences.
The experience for me was profound.
I didn’t feel sedated or zoned out.

I felt clear. Quiet. Focused.
That internal “on alert” tone softened in a way I haven’t experienced with other modalities.
It wasn’t dramatic. It was subtle, but deeply noticeable. I came away wanting to arrive at that state of awareness and internal coherence frequently for sure!

Did you know?

How it works -- the Science

How does this relate to Longevity?

Longevity is not just about hormonal therapy, optimizing labs, taking supplements, exercising or having a near perfect diet.

It is about nervous system regulation!

Chronic autonomic imbalance is linked to many diseases (see above).

Low heart rate variability (HRV) a measurable marker of poor regulation, predicts higher inflammation, cardiovascular mortality, and reduced resilience.

Your autonomic nervous system has two primary branches:

Sympathetic (SNS) – your “get up and go” system

Parasympathetic (PNS) – your “rest and restore” system

The Vagus Nerve: The Brake Pedal

The vagus nerve regulates your parasympathetic system.

  • Slows heart rate

  • Improves digestion

  • Regulates inflammation

  • Enhances HRV

  • Supports emotional regulation

  • Promotes deeper sleep

Think of it this way:

Sympathetic = gas pedal; Vagus nerve = brake pedal

We don’t want to eliminate the gas. We want a brake that engages efficiently so we achieve adaptability.

Health is not about eliminating stress.

It’s about flexibility.

Activate when needed.

Recover efficiently.

Return to baseline.

When we chronically overactivate the sympathetic system without building parasympathetic tone, we see patterns emerge:

  • Cardiovascular disease

  • Hormonal and endocrine imbalances

  • Gastrointestinal disorders

  • Anxiety and mood disruption

  • Chronic pain

  • Autoimmune disease

  • Insulin resistance

  • Cognitive decline

  • Accelerated

  • Sleep imbalances

    • Sleep fragmentation alone impairs the brain’s glymphatic system, the process that clears metabolic waste during deep sleep. Chronic cortisol exposure has been associated with hippocampal shrinkage, affecting memory and long-term cognition.

This is why regulation matters!!!

At the Longevity Conference (A4M) this year, I experienced something I hadn’t felt from other modalities,  a deep, quiet internal regulation.

And I knew I wanted this available not only for myself, but for you.

This technology is used in elite athletic environments, including organizations within the National Football League and National Basketball Association, to enhance recovery, sharpen focus, and support optimal nervous system regulation.

It’s also utilized in high-stress professions such as healthcare and first response, where sustained performance and resilience under pressure are essential.

At Boulder Integrative Health, we are using it for something even more foundational: helping everyday people sleep more deeply, reset their stress response, and restore resilience in a chronically overstimulated world.

Will this help my sleep?

If you struggle with falling asleep or waking in the early morning hours feeling wired, this type of nervous system training helps improve your ability to unwind and transition into deeper rest.

Will this calm anxiety?

This is not sedation, it is regulation. Patients often describe feeling calmer, more grounded, and less internally “on edge.”

Will this help my focus and attention?

Yes, there are specific guided breath work sessions devoted to increasing oxygenation and mental clarity and focus

Will I feel different?

Yes. Not groggy. Not altered. Clearer. More centered. More regulated.

Is it safe?

It is non-invasive, gentle, and fully adjustable to your comfort level.

Is it worth my time?

Sessions range from 10–60 minutes and fit easily into a busy schedule. The shift in regulation can carry into the rest of your day.

Regulation Is a Practice

Shiftwave is one tool, not the only tool.

You can also support vagal tone through:

  • Slow exhale breathing

  • Humming or chanting

  • Gentle cold exposure (mild, not extreme)

  • Tai Chi or Qigong

  • Exercise

  • Postural resets

  • Social connection

  • Intentional sleep rituals

Shiftwave simply accelerates the process.

Why This Matters for Longevity

If we want:

  • Better sleep

  • Clearer cognition

  • Reduced inflammation

  • Improved metabolic health

  • Emotional resilience

  • We must train the nervous system.

This is foundational medicine.

Experience the Shiftwave at BIH!

  • Shifwave sessions are in a beautifully peaceful private room.

  • Shifwave is an excellent addition to your IV therapy.

  • Shifwave sessions range from 10–60 minutes.

  • Affordable packages are available because repetition matters. Regulation is built through consistency.

We are offering a complimentary 10-minute introductory session

If you’re looking to improve sleep, resilience, focus, digestion, recovery or simply feel more regulated, I invite you to try it!

You will feel different.

Call the clinic today to book your free 10 min intro session to see if this feels right for you!!!
